Wah I never knew the power of blogshops till I went for this bash because... the amount of effort some girls are willing to go through is CRAZY.
The bash was at Zirca (Clarke Quay) and doors were slated to open at 2.30pm, with the actual event starting at 3pm. Due to Sherry's actual ability to be on time, she reached at 2.40pm and had a mild spasm when seeing the number of girls there already (and also because I was the one holding the bash tickets, and was blissfully still at home - my ability to be on time being not as refined as hers -) (I reached at 3+pm).
The queue stretched all the way from Zirca's doors, past the taxi stand, past the fountain in the middle and way past Arena (which is quite far away). I don't know how much further it stretched beyond that lah, cause I couldn't be bothered to go see. Anyway, apparently some girls had started queuing at 11am? INSANE OR WHUT.
I helped myself to one of the chairs nearby haha.
By the way, like half the girls there were probably wearing Bonitochico stuff. And to be honest, neither Sherry nor I have a single item from them hahahaha. I wanted to buy two pieces recently but they sold out within minutes! Crazyyyyy.
Anyway a lot of the girls were reallyyy dressed up. Like super high heels and bodycon dresses, like they were going clubbing or something. I looked like I was just going to town haha.
Sherry (in the middle) and her two friends.
Anyway it was pretty packed inside Zirca. Like when we went in the fashion show had already started and it was super hard to get a good spot to see it! I managed to get a seat but had to crane my neck to be able to see the show, with Sherry standing behind me and lamenting that she
"should have worn her heels so that she can tower over all these girls".
They had lucky draws and were done giving out the $50/$100/$250/$? Bonitochico vouchers when Daniel Ong (the dj) announced the next prize to be a $250 L'Oreal hamper. Both Sherry and I wanted to win the Balenciaga (obviously, cause worth the most hahaha) so I was saying to her
"I laugh if you win that", cause the hamper was bound to be pretty heavy too.
Then.... Daniel Ong announced my IC number. FML hahahahahaha.
Actually I spent like 5 minutes going
"Eh he said all the numbers in my IC but didn't say the alphabet leh! Is it me? Is it me?!" and Sherry almost shoved me over the railing (I screamed) (we were on the second floor) trying to get me to claim my prize.
So... Yah it was me haha. Terribly difficult time making my way down pushing through the throng of girls! Mad embarrassed and flustered by the time I got onstage to get the prize from the Bonitochico owners.
Woohoo the hamper was full of makeup and skincare stuff! I totally don't need to buy any new makeup for like the next 2 years at least haha.
I collected a gazillion balloons on the way out! (We were only given one each).
The Bonitochico goodie bag and my L'Oreal hamper!
Unglam shot of me talking halfway.
I think Sherry looks really pretty here!
Sherry's working at Shu Uemura and this is the makeup she has to wear on weekends at the shop (Paragon outlet, so if you've nothing to do you can go spy on her). She HAS to use 4 colours in her eyeshadow. She signed me up as a Shu Uemura member or something also haha.
More balloons!
Bonitochico lanyard in blue, purple and pink.
And.... taking the bus with all my balloons teehee.
The Bonitochico Sticky sweet, which had a nice flavour! And my half completed nails (primarily why I was so late to meet Sherry).
Stuff in the Bonitochico goodie bag (and + the Sticky sweets, but by this time I had eaten all of them...)
Stuff in my L'Oreal hamper!
And my nails! I used masking tape to paint half of the nail diagonally. I know it doesn't look very neat but it doesn't really matter at this point. That's me starting the top half of my thumb in green.
Covering the blue diagonal part to start painting the green.
The green part painted!
Green + blue diagonal halves completed. I know the middle part where they meet doesn't look that neat, but like I said it doesn't really matter. Applied one topcoat at this point.
Used silver glittery nail polish to paint across the diagonal line! Thought about adding crystals but maybe another time. Added another layer of topcoat (Use Sally Hansen's clear polishes, I think it's damn good!) cause my nail polish chips damnnnn easily.
Okay I know the edges don't look very neat but I mean after a few days the nail polish that got unto the cuticle/skin will come off.
Wah I seriously hate my fingers, which is why I almost never wear nail polish (although I think I'm quite good at it leh! This is my first time painting anything other than just a single solid colour) (and also I think that excessive nail art makes you look too vain haha) because I don't want to draw attention to them. But my nails look so pweety moving across the keyboard as I type...
P.S. Bonitochio actually renamed themselves LoveBonito at the bash but I was too lazy to switch to LoveBonito once I started typing Bonitochico.
Sherry and I were talking about blogshop names and wondering what they meant. I was wondering why they decided to drop the "Chico" in LoveBonito, or why not use LoveChico instead? (Although in retrospect, "Chico" does make me think of cheekopeks -> perverse old men.)
So anyway, Sherry looked up what Bonito and Chico meant, and the results are quite retarded.
Bonito actually refers to a predatory FISH hahahaha.
Chico (from Chicalote) is a type of flower, which seriously sounds like a way better name right? But like I said, there's that whole cheekopek issue.
After the Bonitochico/LoveBonito Bash, I decided to drop by the Bukit Panjang Daiso outlet (hahahaha). I was tweeting that Daiso is incredibly good at making you buy things you don't need at all, just because it's only $2 storewide. I mean $2 really is cheap. The problem is, it adds up to a lot when you keep adding things you now suddenly need to your already heavy shopping basket.
Mental dialogue:
"I don't need this plastic Hello Kitty pouch that is transparent (can see inside), a great size, cute, has HELLO KITTY on it and is only $2. I DO NOT NEED IT."
-5 seconds later-
"I need it."
Soooo... now I need to buy more things so that I actually have stuff to put in the Hello Kitty pouch. Isn't consumerism beautiful?!
P.P.S. Looking at the photo of the Sticky sweet that says Bonito <3 Chico, makes me realise that essentially it is saying... Fish Loves Flower. Hahahahahaha.
