Polka Dot Friends, Hello!

Wednesday, September 30, 2009
Monday was Phebe's birthday dinner, with the friends from St Margaret's (omg I spelt that Margeret at first, clearly secondary school was too long ago).
I bought the balloon, which I thought was funny -_- but everyone else scolded me for my choice ):

Sherry and Rachel, with my cute balloon choice. Cute lorz, not meh?

My instax camera and very yuck looking legs there. Must remember to stand properly next time. (Vanity hits you harder at this age).

Phebe.

Unglam.

Down to Holland Village! We ate at 3 Monkeys' Cafe for the "jungle experience". That's what I told Phebe anyway. Right before directing her to a taxi- our "Congo carriage".

By the way the ambience was pretty good with the painted wall murals of jungle animals and staff wearing leopard print vests/togas, but the food sucked.
Like for an average of $16 for a main dish, it was really very average. Although I in fact I even tested their "house special"- Meatballs Spaghetti. (That's not the dish's name, but it describes it accurately enough).

Trying LJ poses again:
Fail...

Fail...

?? We were all like "What's with the hand?"

Clearly am the only one to have closely studied the art of Livejournal Pose-ness (I coined that term). We all agreed on this. We now know what all my time is spent on.

Slit eyes.

WADDUP WITH THE BIG EYES SHERRY.

Rachel and Phebe ate TONS of peanuts.

Best part of the restaurant were the Italian Sodas. Rachel got a really gross one (Mango), Phebe's (Strawberry) and mine (Peach) were really good! Sherry's was alright (Lime).
Wouldn't mind going there just for the drinks haha.
Sherry: "You're trying something new is it?"
Sophie: "No it's just cause it's the cheapest drink." No seriously at $5+ it was way cheaper than the smoothies ($7+). And I don't believe in paying $4.50 for a Coke. So it was that or ice water, and I hate water.

Average food.

This is such a weird shot. I was pretending to smell the aromatic Meatball Spaghetti fumes (obviously before I tasted its average-ness) and Sherry...

Camille came! She's staying at NUS Kent Ridge Hall, we ate at Holland just to accommodate her.

Perv tried pulling my top.

PERV.

PERV!!! It's not like you don't have your own (way bigger) ones!

Watched Inglorious Basterds after, I found it insanely boring. Do you know that the show is over 2 hours long? There were wayyyy too many parts that could have been cut out.

I actually FELL ASLEEP for the entire of Chapter 4 and woke up because of the gun shots. Anyway you're doomed to come across idiots in the cinema who'll find EVERY SINGLE THING funny. Just because it's some sort of parody/spoof/semi-comedy, it doesn't mean every thing in it is meant to be a joke? Seriously?

But anyway a lot of people thought it was not bad so maybe it was just not my thing. It was pretty gruesome though (M18).

P.S. Found out it's E-Learning Week at NUS next week! HAHAHA which means no lectures! Which means no school! No seriously, I only have 2 tutorials. Harharharharhar.....

Remember the sequin kitty-kat mask I mentioned previously? I bought it yay!

$7.90 for the mask and $5.90 for the ring, both from Accessorize.

Met to do our Geography project (tourism slogan) zzz school zzz.

Egghead becoming even more egghead-ed.

October's a busy month, I've 2 assignments/projects due every alternate week.

WAS SO STRESSED THIS MORNING.
I had finished my Philosophy essay in due time (woohoo). On the NUS Philosophy website it said to submit 4-5 pages in format of the template provided for reference.
But, everyone knows that assignments should always be in DOUBLE SPACING right?
So anyway, I followed the template which was strangely in 1.5 spacing. So last night there was this huge mega confusion on whether 1.5 spacing was still allowed, some tutors said yes, some no.

If I switched my essay to double spacing, I hit a whopping 7 pages which would result in marks deducted, and pages 6 and 7 not even read o.m.g :o
I emailed my tutor but he didn't reply so this morning I had to cut my essay by 2 pages, while rushing for another tutorial! Sob.

Ugh okay bye.

I just read the newspaper, Lindsay Lohan and Marc Jacobs were seen at the Fuel Party I was at?? Okay I don't even know what Marc Jacobs looks like, but what about Lindsay Lohan?! HOW COME I NEVER SEE ANYTHING. Zzz
[/edit]

Friday's Fuel Party was a huge waste of time.

The crowd consisted of mostly angmohs above 30 years old. Samantha Ronson SUCKED by the way. The beginning was not too bad, then it became some weird half RnB half house thingy, then just really average RnB/HipHop you couldn't even really get into.
Like it made me think that being Lindsay Lohan's ex-girlfriend was the most interesting thing about her.
(No honestly when you say "Samantha Ronson" to someone, they don't go "OH that really good dj?"; they just go "OH Lindsay Lohan's girlfriend").

At least we only went cause I got 4 free passes. The other section which had Darren Emerson was not too bad at least, but seriously Singapore organisers are just... Like I can't understand how they can bring in all these international acts and still throw such a mediocre party.
(Ticket prices probably didn't help. $60 for normal entry and $130 for VIP. Wrong target group maybe? Dunno.)

Anyway, turns out I might have seen Gwen Stefani and Will.I.Am there!!!! Like I noticed a blonde and this really familiar looking black dude just seated inches from where Samantha Ronson was spinning. I asked Chloe but she wasn't paying attention so I just dismissed it.
Today Addie messaged me and said she heard Gwen Stefani was there that night and I was like :o
Like omg I totally just missed that...

Sophie: The top I'm wearing... A mile away also can see. Ready Set Glo x1000
Sparkly!

Samantha Ronson.

RANDOM couple that made me take a picture of them and then asked me to email it.

Sophie: "I don't care I'm not moving till she takes a photo with us with her thumbs up or something!!!"
We wanted to take a picture with Samantha Ronson, like just for the sake of it haha. But she was so unfriendly so we gave up.

Upstairs.

By the way I totally laughed reading the news about the disastrous first day of F1 Rocks. I can't believe the sound system totally died; like flat out silence. That is seriously mortifying! What is up with the F1 events this year?!

Okay whatever that about sums up my very mediocre experience. Oh yeah but the beer at the Fuel Party was good. Pretty much the most interesting thing of the night included the hotdogs they sold ($6 but had good mustard), and driving home because Rudy turns beet red at the slightest drop of alcohol.

Bye. (Grouchy. I realise the new F21 skirt that I waited 2 months to receive does not look nice on me at all.)
