South of France Part 2

The last bunch of photos from France! These consist mostly of afternoon swimming at the neighbour's and photos from cities in area.

Photobucket

Over at Jean-Christophe's house:

Haha she's so cute, all she did was fish the toys out and throw them back in.

Photobucket
If you look closely you can see a huge scar on his torso. A few years ago he was on his motorbike in the countryside in Spain and had an accident. He was lucky a house nearby heard the crash because he would have died otherwise (fractured ribs and punctured lungs or something).

Photobucket

Photobucket
Jean-Christophe, his sister Florence, their little niece Maellis and my nephew Hugo.

Photobucket
So pretty! Tea party!

Photobucket

I managed to stay dry that day haha. The previous day (we went swimming there a few times) I played ball with them in the pool but got bored of being splashed/letting kids win.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Florence's boyfriend Pierre-Luc. It's insane because they've been having a long-distance relationship for two years now. They met while she was on holiday visiting another city with her friend and they live too far apart to see each other (2 hours of train), so they only meet up during the holidays?! I can't imagine how hard that is, especially since she doesn't have Internet (Skype) at home!

Visited another city in the area, called Vaison-la-Romaine. The city is a huge touristy spot because it used to be a Roman town and tons of ruins still remain.

Photobucket
Cuisine is French for Kitchen.

Photobucket
Yep so this was the kitchen back in the days when France was part of the Roman Empire.

Photobucket

Photobucket
This was the bathroom!

Photobucket
I can sorta imagine it being sauna-like I guess.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Roman columns.

Photobucket
Random lah but they had a koi pond there.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
The mosaic floor that remained in one of the rooms.

Photobucket
Jewelry back in those days! "Bagues en metal" means Metal Rings.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Took the little train. It passed scarily close to the roadside merchants/cafes.

Photobucket
I realise it's actually quite easy to make a crown of daisies (or whatever flower). The knots actually stay, so it's quite simple to make a whole chain of them but I got lazy.

Photobucket

Went to Avignon another day. Avignon is the largest city in our area/"department", with about 100 000 inhabitants I think? The next largest city, Carpentras, has 20 000 inhabitants. The village my dad lives in only has 200 -_-
Anyway at Avignon it was currently the arts festival, with over 9000 formal and informal performances going on simultaneously. It was really cool, because basically anyone can start a performance at any time to any audience. It can be a play put up in an alley to only 5 people watching, or a large-scale performance in a theatre.

Photobucket
Tons of posters all over the city advertising performances!

Photobucket

Photobucket
That's a coffin they're carrying, and "En Solde" means For Sale. Haha "SOLDES!" was the only word I taught Carmen and Eunice to recognise in Paris.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Hotel de Ville literally means City Hotel. Anyway it's basically the town hall where the mayor and his staff are.

Photobucket
Street caricatures.

Photobucket
People going in to watch a small performance.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Bunch of people (can't even call them dancers haha) putting up a performance in the middle of the road. I mean basically for this arts festival there are both serious performers genuinely looking to showcase their talents, and friends who got together and practised for the fun of it.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Tap dancers.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Damn cute!

Photobucket
Haha this well-ripped guy was doing a dance and these kids on a school trip started dancing with him. I even have a video of a little girl doing body rolls and all. Could put 80% of the girls in Phuture to shame haha.

Photobucket
French people protesting about something or another again. Couldn't really make out what this one was about, but it's performers and artists complaining about some reform.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
TV van there to film the protest.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Palais des Papes -> Palace of the Popes.

Photobucket
Erm a sculpture of an elephant balancing on its trunk.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Watercolour painting above your name. I thought it was really pretty! And at 5 Euros it's quite affordable, but I felt it would look really out of place in my room.

Photobucket

Photobucket
And... this was when I was bored one day and decided to cut my fringe again. Considered cutting bangs again, which I sort of did, but I ensured one side (the left) was still long enough to go back to my usual side-swept thingy.
Anyway this is me with ZERO MAKEUP (I swear!). If you think I look terrible... oh well everyone says I look very pale and tired without makeup. If you think I look okay... well then generally everyone looks good on Photobooth haha. (Just like in Polaroids too).

Photobucket
Took this picture in the TOILET of the train back up to Paris!

Photobucket
The train toilet is really pretty impressive no? I mean train rides are only about 3 hours long. The toilet really looks quite good and it was clean.

Photobucket
♥ to my boyfriend! Alaric picked me up at the airport with a giant unicorn and sparkly star balloon ((((:
Honestly before I got on the plane I had a mild anxiety attack thinking MAYBE HE'S NOT GONNA COME and I would arrive in Singapore all alone to no one (people disappoint other people all the time).
This was because he didn't reply my smses while I was waiting at the airport for my flight (5 hours of waiting is no joke). Generally I'm quite rational lah but I do occasionally construct scenarios in my mind (I daydream a lot), just that I always tell myself I'm being stupid and that's that. So when I saw him this was me -> :D (wide smile)

Woohoo this year so far I've been to Batam (okay not that interesting, but still!), London, Brussels, Paris and the south and now Bangkok! And there's still the end of year holidays! Hope everyone's having fun before school starts again, bye!
