Ate at this place near my house the other day because it looked interesting!
The variety isn't that large though, they probably had more desserts than they had of main courses. Yet the dessert menu isn't extensive enough to call it a dessert place so...

The decor is pretty cute though! Plus they actually have Archie comics for you to read so basically I didn't talk to Alaric during the entire meal.

My fish & chips! It was not too bad, but the tartar sauce wasn't the conventional kind (seemed like a coleslaw-hybrid?) so I kind of missed that.

Stuck doing Powerpoint slides for a presentation on Friday... SMU students are probably used to it but I haven't really done any in a while.

I remember when we were younger there would always be one girl in the group that liked "beautifying" the slides - by making certain words different colours, in italics, in bold, underlined, whatever. Whether that actually did look better and didn't make reading the slides 50x worse is another issue.

How have we come to look at animals & our relationship with them in particular ways through tourism?

And let's not forget the highly distracting backgrounds because as students in uniform we have to seize any opportunity to express our "individuality".

I think I kind of miss being younger, when just going down to town after school was exciting.
When things didn't have to be expensive or branded to be worthwhile. When dinner was which Level 4 Far East Plaza "restaurant" to eat at. When public transport was the norm and getting driven was a rare favour from our parents. When shopping wasn't about which bag you had your eye on. When you made new acquaintances easily that you would talk to on MSN till you became friends, or either one of you got bored. When it was okay that plans involved nothing, and people were only an hour late instead of three hours, or never. When something new didn't have to involve being overseas. When plans were never this flimsy and discarded so easily. When basically, everyone wasn't so bored of everything.

Anyway. Just a little melancholic about the time I've missed out on and relationships that are left. And how everyone is here but not really here anymore.

i think.. *referring to last paragraph in comparison of being younger*
that it is just you who made it that way.

try finding pleasure in the simple things of life :) Don't need to be affected by others who wants branded stuff ( or your vanity that does)
