Watched Dinner for Schmucks the other day (after Wiki-ing it I realised it's a remake of a French movie! I wonder who was the "Schmuck" in the French version) at Iluma. By the way Iluma has really quite a lot of food, but by the time the movie ended most of the eateries were closed.
The two lead actors should be familiar to most of you! Steve Carell (behind) has appeared in lots of other comedies like 40-year-old Virgin, Dan in Real Life, Evan Almighty and even Despicable Me! Similarly, Paul Rudd has been in many comedies too, like Knocked Up, Role Models and I Love You, Man.
The two come together in this movie, whereby Tim (Paul Rudd) has a company dinner to which all of them must invite a Schmuck/idiot (Barry, acted by Steve Carell) along for the bosses and potential clients to secretly make fun of.
They first meet when Tim accidentally hits Barry on the road as Barry was bending over to pick up a dead mouse. And Barry was picking up a dead mouse because:
This is SO cute! Totally reminds me of my hamster (minus the fact that these rodents here are dead lah).
But haha anyway Barry uses dead mice for all these little set-ups. He has a mouse Mona Lisa, a mouse Jesus, a mouse Benjamin Franklin... So cute!
At the dinner are tons of other "talented" people, like a woman who claims she can talk to dead pets. It's really quite funny!
Won't say anymore so as not to spoil the movie, but anyway this is a really light-hearted comedy and you can't go wrong with Steve Carell! It'll be out in cinemas soon so catch it then! :D
P.S. Will blog again tomorrow or something. Not really in the mood now. Tummyache :(
