More H&M

Ok first let me show you guys what happened to my Mac charger:


Wth?! The thing burned right through the protective rubber! I tried using duct tape to hold it together (it could still kinda charge my laptop then) but the duct tape just got burnt through too.

P.S. Nice glitter gradient nails from Milly's! :D But I have a new set of nails already, show you guys soon.


This is it up close. You can see how most of the copper wires have burnt completely and frizzled! By this point it couldn't charge my laptop anymore :( I'm using Alaric's charger now; gotta go buy a new one soon.

And here are more H&M pictures stolen of Qiuting's blog. (She greatly disappoints me because her pictures are not the perfect 640 x 480 pixels size. Sigh).

I didn't realise that some readers might have confused Qiuting and I because one shot of her had her face covered. Kept getting questions asking where I got "my" polka dotted bag or bow jeans from haha.

And here are all our bags! Ok actually 3 of the bags are goodie bags. Inside the goodie bag was a H&M catalogue/mock magazine thingy, and 2 bracelets.

I remember seeing on Facebook that one of my friends had queued 10hours to get into H&M, and claimed it was totally worth it! Madness :S
I mean... the irony is that you're queueing TO SPEND MONEY hahaha.

I haven't gone near the area recently; no clue if there's still a queue to enter now. Wouldn't most of the sizes/stuff be sold out already? On the other hand, F21 and Topshop are insanely empty haha.

The Sims Social

I know this is a really uncool topic but the last couple of days many of us have all been hooked on The Sims Social!

I've actually been an ardent fan of Sims all these years, having had Sims, Sim2 & the latest Sims3 (and some of their respective expansions sets) so I couldn't really be bothered to play The Sims Social on Facebook because I was thinking I could just play the REAL DEAL you know?

But I kept getting requests from people who were already playing it so one day I decided to try and... ta-daah!


This is me at my house! I took a screenshot of this because The Sims Social bugged out for a while and cloned me hahahaha. Look! There's 2 Mes standing by the telescope!


And this is an updated screenshot of my house as it is right now :D Kinda part-girly, part-modern bachelor pad no? :D

So let's send my Sim (her name is Laura Peterson, which was just the default name generated by the game and I couldn't be bothered to think of something else) to visit some people!

Actually I selected the Insane trait for her, so she can talk to plants and eat her own shoe lol. That makes her quite independent in fulfilling her hunger + socialization needs haha.


Thought you guys might be interested to see how Xiaxue's house looks like! Unsurprisingly... it is very pink. Very. And naturally her Sim (Bunny McCuddles) has pink hair.

Oh if you look at us talking at the corner, you can see that I've changed clothes! I don't know why Xiaxue's Sim is only in bra and panties and knee-high socks hahaha. Sometimes the game bugs out and removes our Sim's clothing, but it could also be that her Sim is slutty haha.


And this is Qiuting's! Her house is also so bloody pink.

I actually began playing after both Xiaxue and Qiuting, but quickly overtook them *serious gamer*.

Oh yeah my Sim is dating Alaric's Sim, who is called Bruce Wayne haha. And in case you're sick of seeing pink, girly homes, here is Alaric's:

Every time I look at Alaric's house I feel that it is affirmative that I should be the one to do the interior design if we ever get married haha. All home decor decisions should come to ME.

Very few people gave their Sims their real name; most would be some half-real, half-cute Twitterish kind of name (like you know how if a girl's name is Rachel, her Twitter name might be rachkitty or whatever).
Saw a couple of weird ones like Sharks Bite (??_??) and of course Xiaxue's Bunny McCuddles which is soooo gay hahahaha.

The funniest has to be Qiuting's.
Me: "Eh why is your Sim's name Qiu 47kg?"
Qiuting: "Oh because at first the name they put was something Wright"
(I mentioned that the game creates default names for you)
Qiuting: "and I thought it was Weight spelt wrongly"
Me: "HAHAHAHAHAHA"

So funny! "Weight" spelt wrongly... Hahahaha! It's just so amusing because like... why would they care what your/your Sim's weight is?! Hahahahaha.

And speaking of Qiuting,

This is her trying to hide it, but you can still see the start of a bald patch hahaha. It's actually not very obvious when the rest of her hair is down.






This was the reason why the following day I found out that two of my friends had apparently been discovered lying on a grass patch near home, and had to be brought back by two kindly strangers.
Their parents have since banned them from drinking (duh).

Funniest thing I heard all day hahahahahaha.

Ok FML I finished typing the above and then accidentally spilt ice lemon tea on my Mac's keyboard.


Wahlao. Act cute sia. Totally unintentional. I was the the one doing the act-cute-look-to-the-side thing, and I have no clue why Alaric did that too.

10am class tomorrow. What a life. When am I starting my 3pm-2am job? (a.k.a being unemployed) My Sim has a more exciting life than me. All she does every day is paint/cook/write, and visit friends. Plus she has cute freckles and she mainly daydreams about purple rabbits.

Shoe-In

Just a random snippet to um... kickstart your Monday. Bleughhhhhh.

Anyway the other day I wore an old pair of Rubi shoes (the popular affordable ones selling at Ion) to school. They were at least 1 year old, but I had only worn them ONCE.

I remember the exact day I first wore them. It was the first time I had lunch with Alaric at the canteen (shortly after *I* added him on Facebook ^^) (because I knew he'd add me on BBM, which he did) and I was wearing jeans that day (I never do).

Every Wednesday that semester was Themed Clothing Day with my friends, and so that day the theme was jeans. And I remember feeling distinctly self-conscious and uncomfortable because I never wear jeans.

So fast-forward 1 year and 4 months (that's how long we've been together); I decided to wear them out.

And they broke -_-



First, the right sole came off. Kinda uncomfortable, but still possibly manageable. I was worried though because I had a long day that day, but I didn't have time to go home or to buy a new pair.

20 minutes later, the OTHER sole came off. Not only did it come off, the top and bottom completely detached.


Impossible to wear. How long before I have to walk barefoot?!

Luckily I could take Alaric's mom's slipper, which was kinda bling but still sort of matched my top that day hahaha. It wasn't in the best shape but hey, my Havaianas look grimy but they've lasted me 3 years (and counting, I'm still wearing them).

So I made it through 1 class and was walking down a (very common/popular) corridor, when...

THE SLIPPER BROKE TOO.

Where got so suay one?! Half the right sole totally broke off!
I guess it's better than the straps detaching, because I could still wear it. Just that my right foot was half stepping on the ground hahaha.

The NUS Central Forum commonly has these vendors setting up stalls there and occasionally there'll be one vendor that sells cheap slippers. My friend said she thought she saw him that day, so we made our way there while I hoped no one noticed I was wearing a 1.5 slipper *fingers crossed*



Made it all the way down the lift when the right slipper completely gave way!
So now I was barefoot on the right side :'O

I ditched both slippers outside the lift (got many curious stares) and hobbled the last few steps completely barefoot.

HALLELUJAH! THE SLIPPER SELLER WAS THERE.
*sinks to knees and kisses the ground* (ok I kid)

So I bought the purple slippers you see above in all the photos, and it was only $5! They're very comfy too, just that I find the straps a bit too wide. But woohoo!

A friend later messaged me to say he had just spotted the 0.5 of my right sole near the canteen hahaha. Actually the whole thing was quite funny to me, but I don't know what I would have done it there really was NO slipper seller that day.

Ok no moral of the story. The end.

H&M Preview

The official launch of the H&M store in Singapore is on 3rd September, Saturday. Wendy (Xiaxue) had invites so she brought Qiuting, Kaykay and I to the preview on Friday night, where we also got 20% off all purchases! (:

You're not really allowed to take photos but it was SO crowded with people very dressed up (and hence taking lots of pictures) anyway!
Gosh I felt so severely underdressed! Didn't even *cough* wash my hair that morning. Most girls were in cocktail dresses and 5-inch stiletto heels. Some even worn floor-sweeping gowns with clutches O.O

H&M did serve champagne and little amouse-bouches, but I dunno... it's still just a preview! Not an actual atas ceremonial launch!


Hehe they were smart enough to provide everyone with big shopping bags!
The men had a um... smaller version to use hahaha gosh no faith in their buying power.


H&M takes up a total of 3 floors! The first two are for women, whereas the 3rd floor is split into men (how sad for them haha so small) and kids!


Kaykay and Xiaxue! That's her trying on these gloves she bought (useless and not cheap LOL) while we queued to pay.



Anyway prices were a lot more affordable than expected! I wouldn't call it CHEAP, but I expected the prices to be quite a lot more jacked up as compared to Europe. I thought it'd be somewhere between the pricings of F21 and Topshop, but surprisingly it was about the same or possibly cheaper than F21 even.

When we reached at 7pm, we saw people sitting outside queuing for the opening the next day (today) O.O madness! I heard that the first 5 shoppers get a $250 shopping voucher but still! Queue overnight leh!

Anyway good luck to any poor souls intending the battle the crowd today! It was already really packed when we went. Think I'm not gonna drop by again till a month later LOL. They should have new stock by then too! :D
