Today shall be a good day. I bought 15bars of ice-cream and ordered Pizza Hut. I shall curl up in front of tudou.com and watch movies I've already watched and think about Chemistry revisions later.

That's Charmer the Unicorm.

Hihihi! 6 Papers down this week woohoo I'm almost done, I can start thinking about Post-ALevel outfits!
Papers so far have been alright-ish like not easy but not extraordinarily hard either. Maybe it's cause I didn't wear my lucky panties at all this week.

But most importantly, everyone thought roughly the same as me about our papers so at least I won't be disadvantageously bell-curved. (a.k.a everyone else did very well so the minimum mark for an A grade changes from 70 to say, 80, but for you the paper sucked so it means you're going to do even worse than usual)

I've only 4 papers left spread over 2 weeks, 2 of which are multiple choice (MCQ). And they're split into one core-one MCQ per week so I've like 3 days to study for each paper. Feeling fairly relaxed now, I can finally catch up on my sleep! I've been averaging like 3hours a night now...

Chloe: I'm going to zzz. Need a fresh brain in times of desperation.
Sophie: Haha fresh but empty brain?

Age old debate. Better a prepared but very tired brain or inadequately prepared but alert?

I can't believe I will never have to step into the MOE Language Centre (MOELC) for the rest of my life. 4 never-ending hours spent there each week (when I decide to go, that is). But I've been there 6 years, longer than both my secondary and JC education! So in spite of the MOELC not exactly being my most favourite place... there's still this sense of loss. Of losing something you have been so accustomed to for the past 6 years.

ALevels mark the end of my formal education. I'm somewhat frightened that the time has come to realise my departure from mainstream education where I'm molly coddled by familiar classrooms and faces. Soon I will no longer don a uniform and will have to make important choices that may decide the rest of my life.

USA ELECTIONS!
OBAMA PLEASE. Harvard graduate with magna cum laude honours. Plans to end the war in Iraq, tax breaks for the lower and middle income groups, more taxes for the wealthy (whereas McCain wants to give the rich tax breaks), calls to address environmental concerns...

.....And other the other hand there's Sarah Palin. Who went to multiple colleges, spending only about a term/semester at each.

How can anyone vote for McCain when they see Palin beside him?! Snippet from the Straits Times:

"Mrs Sarah Palin told a Canadian comedian posing as French President Nicholas Sarkozy during a prank call that 'maybe in eight years', she will be President."

Oh the horror. And how on earth can she say something like this in the first place? Presumptuous/hopeful much.

McCain himself is alright I guess, if I believed in Republican ideals that is. But a campaign riddled with controversies, (somehow mostly related to Palin) like a wardrobe budget of US$150000 on Palin when the USA is in an economic crisis, power abuse to fire xxx person and the list goes on. And what kind of President relies on smearing his opponent's campaign to garner votes?

GP today was alot harder than expected, in BOTH papers. All essay options were fairly bleughhhh. I spent 8mins mentally examining the merits of each question and eventually settled on "How important are dreams?"

Ugh I didn't have that many points so couldn't use my normal format which usually allows me to have 6 focal arguments?

I said dreams are an (1) innate part of human nature- We are human and therefore we can dream. And because we can dream, we are therefore human. Our ability to dream make us human blah blah blahhhhh.
(2) Dreams let us escape from the harsh realities of life; cocoon ourselves in a mental idyll etc etc etc to cope with tomorrow.

Then I countered with (3) Detractors may question what good dreams are, when at the end of our mental car ride careening to a beautiful location we look out to see ourselves rooted to the same spot. Or something like that and argued about how efforts and luck are more crucial.

Rebutted with (4) Dreams are the beginning point of a journey through effort and luck, and at the end of this journey we see that same dream in sight.. etc a.k.a dreams lead us to put in the requisite efforts and so on.

Fell semi-asleep during Comprehension and hence rushed through my AQ and screwed up my vocab section badly. Vocab this year sucked, usually it's meant to help us get marks! I'm fairly sure I might get zero for my 5 vocab words...

And I'm sure this is all very boring sorry. But I might have just seen my A for GP fly out the window; OMG now that I think through it more clearly I can think of an entire new paragraph to add in sob sob sob sob sob sob sob sob sob REGRET ANXIETY FEAR TREPIDATION ):

P.S. My classmate photocopied my essays before the exam and she says she spat out an entire paragraph from one of my essays for her question. Why do I have no one to steal from!!

Sat for my LAST French paper (essay) on Friday in a classroom in SAJC ALL BY MYSELF. Like, just the invigilator and I.
"Umm so I guess I can sit anywhere right?"

400 word limit to discuss the merits of aid for developing countries, finished half an hour early but overshot by 40+ words. Cut out 25 words and then gave up because 40 words out of 400 is like half an argument. Better be penalised for word limit than low content... Retardeeeeed the end was like I-stare-at-you-staring-at-me with the invigilator, fogey old man.

Next door was CLB, and exam criteria's just Pass or Fail. They have MCQ?! It's practically impossible to fail. Darrell even forgot to bring his Chinese dictionary. (By the way, no dictionaries for French exam okay)

Darrell: "What's the format?"
Mok: "Does it even matter..."

The past two years come down to the next 3 weeks and how much I can salvage my studies... My first week is REALLY bad-
Monday: GP and Geography
Tuesday: Math P1
Wednesday: Biology P2
Thursday: Chemistry P3
Friday: Math P2

So tomorrow after writing a full essay of around a 1000 words for GP (well I do anyway), a pathetic one hour break for my tortured arm and followed by 3hours of essay-writing for Geog. This is why in Sec2 I tried to become ambidextrous, my writing's somewhat legible but err vastly impermissible.

Major papers every day, and all of Math within the first week! Friday will see me feeling much more free.

I start ALevels tomorrow, wish me luck!
