Just a quick update:
My mom had a car accident last Friday. It was a pretty major one. My mom was at the end of a line of stationary cars waiting to get on to the AYE, when a delivery truck came barreling into her from behind. The impact sent her crashing into the car in front of her, which crashed into the one in front and so on. Basically the truck driver caused a 5-car chain collision of cars that had been completely stationary.
Considering my mom was the first car hit and hence received the full impact of the hit, she was really lucky to emerge pretty much unscathed. She has a few cuts and bruises/aches but nothing serious.
Can't say as much for the car though:
Looks like a hatchback car, but our car used to be a saloon car. The boot is completely gone. You can see the airbag came out too luckily.
It's a really bad time to have a car crash right now because COE prices are pretty high ($30 000)... And looking at how bad the damage is, we might have to scrap the car because car workshops won't take on the job if the repairs are above a certain amount. I'm quite alright with not having a car because well I hardly even drive it or ride in it and my place has an MRT station and 15 buses... but my mom doesn't work very near home so it's quite troublesome.
Anyway random but I wonder if I really needed to smudge out the car plate number. I mean what can people actually do with your car number? The only thing I can think of is... maybe falsely use your car number to accuse you of having hit them or something?

ReplyDeleteYour mum's particulars can be traced through the car number plate eg. full name & address, insurance co, etc. Good thing you smudge the car plate number.
