Our Etude House trip officially ended the 3rd day, with most of the other girls leaving to go back to their respective countries! Stella & I however had both wanted to extend our trip so we happened to liaise with each other before it (she found me on Facebook) & decided to stay on together!
So we booked a hotel in another part of Seoul (quite near Gangnam haha) & went over, put down our luggages & headed out nearby for lunch! Technically we both decided to extend our trip & room with a total stranger since we didn't know each other hahaha. But Stella was a good travel companion!
And our hotel was semi-love-hotel-ish! A lot of love hotels are actually very nice & affordable, the only difference from normal hotels are touches like the bathtubs having jets & some bathrooms not having doors hahaha. But our bathroom had a door thankfully. And two single beds! So it's not meant for couples. Think the hotel wanted to diversify its clientele hahaha.
Ate at a noodle shop near our hotel!
Etude House nail polish that another girl (Grace) gave me & insisted I try on hahaha.
Not sure what it's called :X
But I remember it sounds like la mian! Basically ramen, la mian & ____ (insert name for Korean one) are pretty much just variations of each other that sound similar haha. Was quite good!
Stella showing me up with her bigass DSLR lol.
After lunch we headed to a shopping area outside Ewha Women's University!
Omg imagine a shopping street right outside your school wahahaha sure die money bye bye $_$
:S :X :X :X :S
Kind of weird...
Hahaha "Kopitiam Singapore Toast Cafe"! Would have been amusing to try it!
This is the Ewha University! Looks pretty nice!
Find it quite odd to have an all-women's university though! Kind of used to the idea (in Singapore) that higher institutions (Junior College, Polytechnic & University) are all mixed because... you're "mature" enough to handle your hormones while juggling schoolwork? Hahaha. Of course the results are debatable, but basically an all-women's university sounds a bit boring, albeit more conducive.
Shopping street! Anyway I think it's a place worth visiting; shopping here is quite reasonably priced & more diverse compared to Myeong-Dong. Stella & I bought the most stuff here!
Lots of small shops on either side of the road as well as in some small alleys.
This shop exemplifies the typical style in Seoul... Chiffon, frills, pastels...
Which is a style I'm fine with, but not all the time! Gets a bit boring :(
And I feel like everyone stared at us cause we were in shorts O.O
Metro stop!
Haha we made friends the previous time so he came to meet Stella & I to bring us for dinner.
Wahahaha he looks so different from his student card hahahaha major uncool
After dinner he brought us to Han River to meet some of his friends; it seems pretty common for them to go down by the river to hang out. You can see lots of teens & families alike down by the river!
This day's post is a relatively short one! But the next day we went to Seoul's outdoor theme park (they also have a famous indoor one at Lotte World), Everland, so I have loads more photos there O.O
Too bad we couldn't cover both Lotte World & Everland! (separate places)
It's just a few days more to Christmas! Happy holidays everyone! :)
LOL. I think the Korean word is ramyun?

Ahh,Shin seems like quite the handsome one!
ReplyDeleteShopping in Seoul seems so fun!! I like the style of those clothes! All feminine!
I'd love to go shopping in Seoul! I want to be there right now! Ahaha!!
ReplyDeleteOfft the food looks so good as well!
Well.. Chiffons and frills are actually not "typical style in Seoul" like you claimed.. When you walk around the streets in Seoul you don't normally see a lot of people in these kind of clothing style, do you? The Korean fashion actually provides alot of other clothings as well. Not only "typical" chiffons and frills.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: Yes I DID mostly only see that style of dressing ON people. Obviously when I say I find it's their style, I mean both on people & sold in shops? There wouldn't be shops selling these clothes if there was no one to buy them no? A lot of websites that import Korean clothes to Singapore also revolve around this type of the style. The other spectrum is the StyleNanda type, which I do find nice, but up till that day I hadn't seen any girls dressed that way. This is only the post for the 3rd day. I did eventually see some other dressing styles (which you haven't let me get round to blogging about yet) but overall sentiment is still that this type of style prevails. I didn't say this style was a bad thing.

The shopping street you mentioned that is located just outside Ewha Uni is actually called Sinchon Fashion Street. I was there too when I went to Korea :)
