OKAY in case you haven't noticed (half-blind) (very dense) (both), I got formspring.me. It's the little box on the left. It's basically this new application that allows YOU to ask ME questions. (Hahaha I make it sound like such a treat...) I've noticed some people starting to use it like my friend Valentina, so I thought I'd give it a shot as part of my Communications & New Media project.

My CNM project requires me to use a new social media for 3 weeks and then write a 3-5page report on it. So this means I could try Chat Roulette, Second Life, Myspace, writing for Wikipedia...etc.

Anyway obviously I can't answer questions if there aren't any questions to answer (hahaha!) so help me by asking! You can really ask anything, but anything offensive will obviously just be deleted so don't be lame (but on second thought I can include that in my report). THANK CHEWZ.

Watched a dumb show the other day at Darrell's (as usual we burst into his house as and when we feel like it)- Fired Up, a movie about two jocks who go to Cheerleading Camp to get girls.

"Martin Luther King had a dream. I have one too. To KICK ASS at Cheerleading Camp! And I don't care if it makes me sound shallow."
"It doesn't. It makes you real."

"I love every bone in your body, especially mine."

Haha but so beats watching a serious boring film...

This will sound so bitchy but.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Butter:

Zouk:

Hahaha navel piercing infected again! I was so startled at the sudden outburst of pus hahahaha. Anyway it's fine now, and no I don't know how to remove it myself.

Because I'm nice like that, I bought Darrell a balloon from Holland.

With Vivian at Velvet, she's in two of my tutorials (Communications & New Media and Sociology). Making more NUS friends woohoo!

Old photo, and this is why I don't like taking pictures with my right profile.

I haven't been eating into my bank account much so that's good (:

I seeker pwnz your ass
I turn Draco Malfoy into a good boy and reject Cedric Diggory
I beat Hermione as top student
And I tell Cho Chang she's fat
And ugly.
Can.
You can't beat Hermione she's damn smart.
Can. Plus my hair is nicer. Have you seen the squirrel bush she has?

Harry Potter if I were in it!

I've been eating more without gaining weight haha, but at least my mom says I look healthier now. School ends in a month plus, time to make holiday plans! (+/- some studying for the stupid things called exams)
And losing my P plate in 2 months cause I got my driving license on 27th May last year.

One 2000 word essay due soon ugh!

Singtel

Thursday, March 18, 2010
Ever since I got a data plan, I've been glued to my phone because of all the new stuff I can now do on my phone with the Internet! This used to drive my boyfriend totally nuts because I am perpetually reading Twitter updates, checking my email or talking to my friends on MSN.
Previously, SingTel already had many student plans in place for people like me:

Most importantly to me were the UNLIMITED SMSES and the free incoming calls.
The student plans also offer free calls on campus (e.g. NUS for me) and camps, as well as a data bundle for surfing the Internet on your phone!

NOW, these student features have been extended to the 3G Flexi plans. This is even better for people like me who like to surf the Internet a lot...

The 3G iFlexi plans above are catered specifically to iPhones but fret not, for other smartphones (eg. Nokia, HTC, etc) there are the 3G Flexi plans :D

With the data plans I can use my phone for Internet-related apps like Facebook & Twitter as well as surf the net, all without worrying about chalking up a HUGEEEE phone bill.

My Twitter! Haha every day I wake up and read Twitter updates from my friends in the night.

1) 12GB of data- is honestly a lot, so I will not need to worry about overshooting my data usage :D Even if I do end up overshooting (because I'm glued to my phone/Internet like that), SingTel has in place a $30/month cap for unlimited data usage- so no matter what you do you know it won't exceed $30. This would totally give tons of people a peace of mind and is available for both iFlexi & 3G Flexi plans!

Other benefits that the 3G Flexi and iFlexi plans have over the normal youth plans include:

2) Free AMPed- AMPed is SingTel's music store, and from here you'll get unlimited music downloads with no data charges! (this means the data usage from song downloading is not counted in your 12GB) The songs can be easily synced to your phone and computer, so bye-bye having to pay for songs $_$ or slow transfers from friends (mine never have the songs I want). You can even get to view exclusive music videos from the AMPed portal which this feature is available for both iFlexi & 3G Flexi plans as well!

3) Free MobileTV- now I can watch the news/my fav sitcoms/football (I don't, but a lot of my guy friends do and this means we all used to have to cluster at the TVs at Zouk when for example Liverpool vs. Manchester United was on) (ugh) on my phone, anywhere I want.
Do note that this feature is available for iFlexi plans only (for iPhones).

Lots of my friends now have phones with data plans, be it iPhones and Nokias, etc. This means that we're perpetually connected to each other and it's so much easier and more fun to talk cause I can leave them a comment on Facebook, tweet about them, upload a picture of us or even just email them cause they'll receive all of this stuff immediately on their phones!
Seriously can't imagine my life now without a phone that can surf the Internet!

♥ ♥ ♥

I mean for me I even blog using my phone sometimes, and receive all notifications of new blog comments on my phone through my Gmail.
It's really useful for school too cause I can read emails from my groupmates and reply them on-the-go, and even view/download the documents!

Just the other day we were at Dempsey and all of us had our phones out doing our usual nonsense, till someone said "Hahaha okay seriously everyone, phones away!!"

I know I'm not actually looking at the iPhone, but if I did I'd get cross-eyed...

Some mandatory camwhoring. Haha you can see in the photos that there's a Facebook notification.

So now you can have 2-in-1 plans (iFlexi or 3G Flexi, depending on your phone) featuring both your normal voice and SMS benefits, as well as data usage for the Internet and related apps!

Handphones have never been so fun till now ♥

Now you can Express Yourself Freely with SingTel Mobile Youth Plans. Visit any SingTel shop or www.singtel.com/youth for more details.

Batam

Sunday, March 14, 2010
Hi everyone! I finally got round to doing a blog post on my trip to Batam in February! There were a massive 98 photos :S and my photo sizes are pretty big so uploading them to Photobucket would have killed me.

So I decided to try doing collages like how some girls do! I always though it must be pretty troublesome but I guess it's alright.. and still better than the alternative of uploading close to a 100 photos.

Anyway my friends and I went to Batam for a day trip as part of our Geography project on tourism. It's not compulsory to visit whichever location you choose to do your project on of course (imagine if you wanna choose like Paris or something) but we thought it'd be fun to visit!
Also, my group has one exchange student (she's Jamaican-American) so obviously she's totally up for visiting the region.

By the way I was at Zouk the night before for Chloe's farewell, then waking up early in the morning for the ferry; drinks + choppy waters= thumbs up to me!

Melissa (the Jamaican exchange student) and her friend Michael, also an exchange student. Michael is a Canadian citizen but of Indonesian origin and proved to be a huge blessing in Batam!

Like we spent 10minutes trying to ask the bookstore girl for a map of Batam and it was total ugh! language barrier, till Michael suddenly started speaking to her in Indonesian and we were like ??? Omg why didn't you say so earlier than you were Indonesian??! Hahahaha.

Hahahaha fake Nike and Chanel jewelry. This is like supposedly at a real jewelry store? Not even like some pasar malam cart.

Nick, me, Melissa and Rebecca.

OMG SO YUMMY I WANT CRAB NOWWWW. The whole meal was so cheap, like S$7 a person?

Convenience store haha.

From the ferry terminal we took a cab to a village which was still pretty rural, although most locals could speak English in case tourists from the nearby resorts venture out (very little tourist-local interaction in Batam).

At the village we paid to be ferried to this little out at sea just to look around. On the island this woman actually said we had to pay "rent"? Like pay money to come unto the island, which was kind of ridiculous but the boys paid anyway.

Basically the locals charge money here and there to make an income, even going into the village we had to pay entry. But it's so little anyway you know? Like maybe a $1 each max, which is really nothing to us in Singapore but in Batam it's like livelihood.

I brought back the first seashell!
The beach there is so pretty!

Took the same cab (it waited for us) back into town to see the shopping centre.
Hello Kitty stuff store:
Omg I want the mahjong set!!!

Visited the Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya temple, which is one of the largest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. Massive! But it had a lift in it hahahaha.

I bought one! Some pancake kinda thingy.

Hahahaha look at where the sign is pointing to! Like EXIT, by jumping into the water???

Anyway we saw the Coast Guard! Don't know what they boarded for, but everyone tried taking photos with their camera phones (but I cool I got camera).
(Notice the old men on the ferry. Ahem as to what they go to Batam for.)

I bought a Hello Kitty ring from the store! Happy!!

Anyway a couple of days later I was reading the newspaper about Indonesian street beggar kids, and one woman was saying how it's pretty good if her nephew can earn 700 rupiah a day from begging.
And it's just so sad cause 700 rupiah is so little. 6000+ rupiah is equals to S$1. I mean in Singapore if you lost a dollar you wouldn't really care you know? But like over there it's actually so much money... the disparity's kind of sad ):

Ugh I still have some leftover rupiah I haven't changed (yeah a month plus later). We had our presentation on Batam already, we got a shock when some groups (actually only one) turned up in full presentation regalia like shirt, blazer, dress shoes etc.
Like I know in faculties like NUS Business you need to dress up for presentations, but for FASS no one cares lah hahaha.

ris low (in lowercase cause I'm childish like that hahaha)

Friday, March 12, 2010
I was gonna do an actual post but lazy/no time so I decided to torment you guys with Ris Low instead:

OH THE HORROR. Ris Low is so disgusting (and she grew fatter).

OMG listen to the part where she's supposed to say "Why is Safe Sex important?" (around 0:24), and she ends up going like "sfsghxfzx portant". I was seriously like... stunned. Went back to watch that part again. Still... stunned.

I know there's a saying that "all publicity is good publicity" (or something along those lines). BUT HELLO DEAR RIS LOW. THERE IS A LIMIT TO THAT. Beyond which you become horribly vile and shameless, and you passed that juncture about 5 months ago.

AIYAH I'm not usually so bitchy and cranky but Ris Low really drives me insane!

School! Bye!
