This is the F1 week and lots of people have been going for parties/events, but I did nothing at all so y'all can get to see... my legs waxed:


Warm wax but this is the thin one. The thick wax is light pink and isn't transparent. And hahaha even my toe hair's getting waxed. But I don't really have lor!

I went to the Orchard Central outlet of Pink Parlour. Orchard Central is always SO EMPTY. The layout is really confusing; like Pink Parlour and other beauty/hair/skin shops are all tucked away in this corner and I took ages to find it the first time. There's an Everything With Fries outlet there though, if people are too lazy to go to the Holland outlet.


Saw this at Diva and thought it was funny hahaha Elmo hairband. I asked Alaric if he'd still go out with me if I wore one of those.


Got a 3rd Stitch from the claw grab-grab machines! The one on the right can walk by the way haha.

My new Neopet! I made a new Uni at first but the Plushie Paint Brush turned out way too expensive ): So Alaric bought me a Jubjub Morphing Potion and then a Cloud Paint Brush. So now I have a Cloud Jubjub! It's so cute!

Dying for Kenny Roger's Mac & Cheese ): SO GOOD. Bye!

My Perfumes

Got bored so I decided to get a list of the perfume I used/use. I can't really figure out what kind of scents I go for particularly but I'm guessing more girly floral? I don't really like heavy/musky kinds. Oh the look of the bottle REALLY matters to me though. I wouldn't buy a perfume if the bottle was ugly (like Thierry Mugler ones, while overall Dior ones seem pretty boring) even if I really liked the scent.

The first 3 below are in chronological order of use:

1. Dolly Girl by Anna Sui
This was the first perfume I used, which I bought for myself (: Okay wait I bought all my own perfumes myself -_- Anyway, first bought this when I was 15 years old I think?


2. Beyond Paradise by Estee Lauder
I love the colours on the bottle!

3. Incanto Shine by Salvatore Ferragamo
I'm currently using this! It's more than half empty (that's pessimistic right?) though.

The following 3 were gifts, also chronological:

1. Metro (the blue) & Star (the peach) by BCBG Max Azria
I still have both because they're Eau de Toilette, which doesn't last as long after being sprayed so I generally prefer to wear my normal perfumes.
Okay doing this post I realised that my current perfume is also an Eau de Toilette. Zzz.

2. Blv by Bvlgari
This is a scent for women (and an example of a hideous perfume bottle design) but I found it rather manly so I gave it to Rudy who used up the whole thing.

3. Sui Love by Anna Sui
Just got this for my birthday this year! Since my current perfume is starting to finish, I'll probably switch to this after.

So looking at the first 3 scents (perfumes I bought myself), can anyone recognise the kind of scent I go for? I wanted to buy Daisy by Marc Jacobs this year, which my friend called "Megan Fox in a bottle" (I see absolutely no link because Daisy looks so sweet and innocent; a.k.a everything Megan Fox is not) but Alaric doesn't like it -_-

My mom's trying to fatten me up so she's stocking the fridge up with food and sending me emails about what she's prepared, claiming "this is the best way to get your attention". Just had Honey Stars with milk and banana slices. I hate soggy cereal by the way!

Om Nom Nom

Had dinner the other day after going to the Flyer at this awesome Japanese restaurant near Bugis! It's located along Liang Seah Street, which I never knew existed. I mean of course we don't know lots of roads exist (like... Tampines Street 5 or 7 or 15 or whatever), but I never knew there was a whole street with SO MUCH FOOD just opposite Bugis!

Qiuting was doing a blog advertorial for Yokozuna so obviously she has tonsssss of photos of the food, but here are just some that I thought were really good!

Salmon Tataki! I don't even like salmon, but I love cheese so the melted cheese layer on top totally made up for it.


Haha I realise I really do wear quite a lot of accessories. 3 bracelets and one bangle (on my upper left arm) and 3 rings. Generally that's the minimum :S


Okay forgot the name of this, but... more cheese!!! Om nomz.


Gyozas! All time love. I seriously love gyozas/dumplings. And I loveeee vinegar. I have to drown my gyoza/siew mai/har gao/xiao long bao in vinegar before eating it. So goooood.

And even fresh oysters! They had grilled oysters as well but they looked scary haha.

Ice-cream! It's red bean and sesame ice-cream on a bed of pudding. I prefer the red bean one! I remember those old-school red bean ice-cream bars you generally only can buy from mama shops in HDBs. My mom loves them, I quite like them too.


That's Genevieve on the left, she's really small sized but OMG CAN SHE EAT A LOT. She had TWO udon bowls! I can't even finish one!


Spot the difference? All these photos are from Qiuting's blog, and she photoshoped my chin in the second one hahahahaha. AIYAH I know my chin is very sharp, but I look so unnatural here!

Last Night:
Watched Devil by M. Night Shymalan, and I thought it was not bad a movie. Basically 5 people are trapped in a lift and weird stuff keeps happening to them. One of them is the devil in human form because they are all evil so... guess which person it is!

I thought the devil had such bad priorities though -_- I mean the people in the lift only had petty crimes like theft, hit & run, assault... What about fathers who rape daughters?! Mothers who prostitute their 7 year olds?! Torturers, murderers... the list goes on. I rather there be more wallets stolen than girls raped!!!

:D Okay we didn't actually win that. We spent $10 TRYING to win it, then made friends with another couple there (a guy in his 30s/40s and his girlfriend). The guy was obviously a regular there because he must have had $100 in coins and he just kept using them. He spent $30 winning this for us.

*points at me* "She your girlfriend? If you do 10 push ups I give it to her"
Haha so Alaric got down and started doing push ups but the guy felt embarrassed for him (a whole throng of people came out of the cinema at that point) and stopped him at 7. And gave me the Stitch! YAY!

There were these girls standing behind Alaric watching him do push ups and I heard them saying to each other "haha you should sit on him". Like wahlao -_- I'm standing right there ahem.




Won another one! (On our own). This is the Stitch that can walk around on the floor haha and it cost like $30+ to catch :/ But now we're gonna be pro at this!

So cute! This was at LAN after that, at this LAN shop near the SMU dorms. The seats are damn comfy!


Alaric insisted on strapping Stitch up. But alright it looks so cute here!

Teehee went to sleep that night holding Stitch (and with images of the devil in my mind -brrr-).

Me: "Ok ok ok"
Mother: "Aiyoh. Aiyohhhh. AIYOH."
Me: "What. What??"
Mother: "HAHAHA SO UGLY."

She thinks my Stitch is ugly ): She said it should be used as a scarecrow.

Oh and about the Photobucket problems, I sent them this:
I am using a Pro Photobucket account (username= sophiewillocq) to hosts photos that I upload to my blog at sophiewillocq.blogspot.com. Lately many of my readers have been complaining that they cannot see my photos regardless of which Internet browser they are using; however this seems to affect only some people and not others as I can see my own photos on my blog.

My readers have also commented that they have not been able to view Photobucket
photos on other peoples' blogs as well, so I'm wondering if it is a problem with
Photobucket itself.

If it is, it is extremely annoying as I renewed my account not too long ago and I
don't see why I should be paying to host photos that can't be viewed. Please let
me know what can be done about this. Thank you.

Well at least they do seem really committed to solving the problem! And I wonder why it's only affecting Singapore. The government must have increased security settings to our Internet hahaha.
Okay anyway so please let me know if you guys can see the photos? And if you can't, I'd really appreciate it if you could follow the instructions given above and comment/email me with the results! I promise to post photos of stuff people have been asking about after this haha.

Wall Street - Money Never Sleeps

On Monday I was able to attend the world premiere of Wall Street - Money Never Sleeps thanks to Omy Blog Club! I brought Sherry along since Alaric had French class at NUS till 8pm haha.

Being a world premiere, Sherry and I had to surrender all electronic gadgets that could possibly be used to record the movie! This meant goodbye to my Blackberry, camera and my Macbook.
I found it quite funny though, because somewhere, somehow, a (or like a 1000) Chinamen will manage to film it anyway and leak it online because they're damn talented at that haha. I mean China is so huge! Singapore is so much easier to control; and even then they still had ushers going up and down the aisles to make sure no one was filming during the movie. Talk about strict...



The film is directed by Oliver Stone, starring well-known names such as Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf as well as Carey Mulligan. Wall Street - Money Never Sleeps is based on the 2008 financial crisis, and I can vaguely recognize some of the themes highlighted in the film such as the property market crash and the US Government bailout.

The scenes below are in chronological order lah, so mild spoilers:








This film is definitely not your typical romance or drama. I was always baffled by how the stock markets work; I've tried asking around how one day the figures can be climbing, and the next day the market crashes but I still haven't figured it out. Guess this is why I was never interested in pursuing economics or finance. But haha omg this movie makes me want to take it up cause geeeeezzzz, it can be rewarding!!! $$$$$$$$

This is a movie about the Wall Street though, so be prepared for the usual scenes of hundreds of men standing around computers shouting SELL/BUY into phones and/or breaking into tears. And also the occasional suicide. The film did have its light-hearted moments though, surprisingly generally from Michael Douglas. Oh and you'll be able to see how one guy can intentionally spread news like crazy and cause a company to lose hundreds of millions.

P.S. The movie is almost 2.5hours long so remember to go to the toilet before it!
P.P.S. I was going to do a longer post with non-movie related news but I'm too tired. Just had two class tests today :( Oh and I sent a complaint letter to Photobucket! More on that tomorrow.
